Recent Regulatory Changes – PCRT and others affecting firms
Karen Eckstein is a solicitor, chartered tax adviser and qualified risk professional with an additional qualification in AI risks in the workplace. She is the founder of Karen Eckstein Ltd, which helps professional services firms prevent claims, increase profits and avoid regulatory risk.
Karen is going to speak on recent regulatory (non SRA related) changes that impact on professional services firms. The changes are mainly (but not solely) arising in the tax arena but affect firms across the piste, and include PCRT/AI, PCRT Standards for Tax Planning, (with a quick nod to HMRC Standards and Sanctions), ACSP and the ICO changes. She is going to consider changes that can be made to engagement letter documentation to manage the impact of some of the changes and discuss how having a culture of organisational compliance (involving implementing clear policies, processes and guidance (including training) and file reviews) works, both to reduce the risk of failure and also to assist in the defence of any regulatory challenge.
This talk is a practical approach to significant changes impacting firms and is one not to be missed.
