Erica Thompson

Erica has held the role of General Counsel since 2022, and prior to that has held senior in-house counsel roles at Royal Mail, Tes Global Plc, KCOM Plc and Stanley Black and Decker. Prior to entering the in-house market, Erica was in private practice covering areas such as contractual disputes, personal injury, professional and clinical negligence. Erica has previously been called to the Bar of Lincolns Inn and is a dual qualified lawyer. Outside of her role as General Counsel, she sits on boards as a NED, Deputy Chair and a Trustee and is a keen networker and co-created the Cavendish Club in Sheffield bringing together the professional and business sectors to build connections and benefit a local charity, Weston Park Cancer Charity. It is fair to say, Erica is not a one trick pony, probably why she holds the role of General Counsel, it’s a pre-requisite if you ask her and why she wants to bring more GC’s and In-house to our sessions for you all to talk and discuss openly about the ever changing landscape and “novel” challenges!
